The Sports Utility Vehicle Crossover was initially referred to as a “mutt” of a vehicle: it was part car, part minivan, and part SUV. This combination, however, took over the automotive world, and the Toyota RAV4 was one of the first crossover vehicles to be successful.

A crossover SUV fits all types of drivers, but it’s especially popular with young families with children. The typical crossover SUV seats five and offers the ability to haul both family and cargo. They are immensely popular. In 2013, for every three cars sold, two crossovers were also sold, and this popularity continues to grow.

The RAV4 helped to pave the way for the popularity of the crossover SUV, and with all the amenities available on this crossover, it’s easy to see why.

There are ten models (hybrids included) available for Rav4 fans: the LE, the XLE, the Adventure, the TRD Off-Road, the XSE hybrid, and the Limited. The LE, XLE, and the Limited each have a hybrid version available.

The LE is the base model. It is a front-wheel-drive crossover powered by a capable 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine that makes 203 horsepower and 184 pound-feet of torque. The Rav4 offers a sporty exterior no matter what trim package you choose, and it promises ample legroom as well. The available SofTex cloth interior will keep you and your passengers comfortable while the stitched interior lends to the driver’s sporty side. Safety is always paramount as the Toyota Safety Sense 2.0 suite of driver aids comes standard on all trims. The package includes adaptive cruise control, forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, lane-keeping assist, and automatic high beams.

The XLE offers additional safety features like Blind Spot Monitor and Rear Cross-Traffic Alert. You’ll also have the choice of available Audio Plus and remote/keyless entry.

The Adventure adds Navigation, features standard All-Wheel Drive, and offers premium audio packages. The Limited adds a virtual rearview camera mirror, heated front seats, and upgrades to the infotainment center.

The TRD Off-Road trim features essential equipment for enhanced capability away from the pavements, including all-terrain tires and an off-road-tuned suspension.
